EXPLORE DENTON STORIES

Home to many emancipated Black residents in the decades after the Civil War, today Denton, Texas – is a suburb of Dallas that has made important contributions to struggles for equality and inclusiveness in the South. We collaborated with the Denton Black Film Festival and the University of North Texas to document a few of the voices reflecting on social progress, civic engagement and community upliftment in their community.
