“I think the basic income is really helping. It does help because like I say, sometimes in the middle of the month I don't have gas money to put in my car so I can get to work. I may not have food. My medicine is expensive, so it pays for that. It helps pay a bill or two. So it matters.”

“I met people today that I never met before and that we have similar stories or similar things that we’re trying to do and just it’s, it is very inspiring to see other people doing the same thing that you’re doing or trying to fight the same fight that you’re fighting…I’m just very thankful for Bread for the City, and all they’re doing, not just for me, the other participants in the program that’s going through stuff. It makes us network together, to help each-other, to be a better community.”
